Project Update

Work Completed During Summer - Fall 2005:

All major construction work is complete, including:

• Construction of curb, gutter, sidewalk and drainage improvements
• Final roadway paving work.
• Installation of new traffic signals at Stevenson Lane, Regester Avenue, Drumcastle Center, Walker/Gittings Avenue, and Lake Avenue.
• Installation of pedestrian lighting along York Road in commercial areas.
• Reconstruction of pedestrian plaza at the intersection of York Road and Northern Parkway.
• Roadway widening along the southbound side of York Road near St. Pius X Catholic Church and WMAR-TV to extend the center turn lane, and construction of a short brick-accented median. 
• Landscaping plantings for fall season put in place.
• Installation of temporary pavement markings.

Remaining work items include installation of final pavement markings this fall and additional landscaping plantings for spring season.  This work may require intermittent, temporary daytime lane closures.
