MD 70 (Roscoe Rowe Boulevard) is one of the main roadways that directly links US 50 to downtown Annapolis. This roadway carries an average of 41,000 vehicles a day over Weems Creek and 29,000 vehicles a day over College Creek. This is expected to increase by 24% to nearly 87,000 vehicles in the next 20 years. These two bridges have experienced severe deterioration over the years. This project will replace the bridge carrying traffic over Weems Creek and rehabilitate the bridge over College Creek.
Throughout this project – from planning to construction - SHA worked with two community advisory committees comprised of local volunteers to create an aesthetically pleasing corridor befitting the entrance to the State Capital.
