Maryland Scenic Byways

Maryland ByWays - Explore the Roads less traveled

Maryland has designated 19 byways that encompass 2,487 miles of beautiful roads, which offer a taste of Maryland’s scenic beauty, history and culture. Take the roads less traveled including four entirely new byways featuring nationally significant themes: the Star-Spangled Banner, Antietam Campaign, Booth’s Escape and the Mason and Dixon byways.

Trail-blazing signs adorned with this logo will guide you along these off-the-beaten-tracks. Individual byway nameplates will be attached to further identify each route. It is recommended that you use the Maryland Scenic Byways Map or the Official Highway Map in conjunction with these narratives.
