The Traffic Safety Analysis Division (TSAD) within SHA's Office of Traffic and Safety is the principal focal point for Maryland's overall highway traffic safety program. A significant part of TSAD role in this comprehensive program is the administration of a traffic safety grant program utilizing State Transportation Trust funds and federal highway safety ("402") funds dedicated to this purpose. Each year, TSAD submits the Annual Report to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Federal Highway Administration that documents and highlights the activities and accomplishments of the grant program and reports the State's status in reaching it's highway safety goals and objectives.
