This team is responsible for direct oversight of the Minority Business Enterprise Program on all Construction Contracts (including goal setting, AAP approval and correspondence) to accomplish this in accordance with State and Federal regulations; the team handles all payments to contractors for all construction projects and determines the sources of funding for billing purposes.

Responsibilities:

• Tracking MBE/DBE Data & Statistics
• Set MBE/DBE goals for SHA construction contracts prior to advertisement
• Verify Affirmative Action Plans submitted by contractors
• Process semi-final and final estimates
• Process monthly estimates for payments to contractors
• Process date for Federal Aid Billing and Accounts Receivable

Construction Inspection Division

The purpose of this division is to facilitate the efficient and timely management of SHA's Construction Program by providing qualified construction inspection personnel statewide. CID is primarily responsible for hiring and training of inspection personnel to provide the seven engineering districts with a proficient workforce. CID has an office staff of 14 and a field staff of 240 technicians and engineers, in addition to over 160 consultant inspectors. CID consists of five operating units including the Training Team, Construction Engineering Manpower Management, Safety Team, Technical Team and Administrative Team.
