This manual is intended to act as a guide in the development of Signal, Signing, Pavement Marking and Lighting plans for Office of Traffic and Safety (OOTS) of the Maryland State Highway Administration. It documents the design procedures and steps required to bring a project from the Design Request stage to the final PS&E stage. When using tables, charts standards and figures from this manual, always check with the OOTS - Traffic Engineering Design Division to ensure that you are using the latest version.
