Welcome

The MD 45 (York Road) Streetscape project will provide a safer, environmentally sensitive and aesthetically pleasing gateway for motorists, transit riders, bicyclists and pedestrians traveling along York Road, a popular connector route between Baltimore County and Baltimore City. More than 30,000 vehicles per day travel along the York Road Streetscape project area, which extends from Northern Parkway in Baltimore City to north of Stevenson Lane in Baltimore County.

This $6.2 million pilot “gateway” project is jointly funded by the State Highway Administration (SHA), the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA), and Baltimore County’s Office of Community Conservation. The project was designed by the State Highway Administration, along with its partners: Human and Rohde; Sabra, Wang & Associates; Baltimore County Department of Public Works; Baltimore City Offices of Transportation and Planning; and a community task force comprised of local residents and business owners. The York Road Streetscape construction contract will be managed by the State Highway Administration, and the State’s contractor is Machado Construction Company, Inc. of Baltimore.
