The State Highway Administration (SHA) has recently begun constructing a new full interchange along the east spur off I-270 to connect to Rockledge Drive and increase accessibility to the Rock Spring Business Park in Montgomery County. The I-270 / MD 187 (Old Georgetown Road) interchange is also being upgraded and widened to improve traffic operations and increase accessibility to the Rock Spring Business Park.
