The new York Road Bridge will be very similar in appearance to the new Dulaney Valley Road Bridge over I-695. The bridge features stained concrete piers and abutments (resembling a stone finish), arched piers, ornamental fencing and decorative lighting. The Towson “T” logo, currently used on the Dulaney Valley Road Bridge and the York Road corridor, will be included on the ends of the bridge to enhance the "Gateway to Towson" effect.
The finished bridge will be neither wider nor carry any additional lanes than the existing bridge. It will, however, be long enough to accommodate the future widening of both inner and outer loops of the Beltway.
