STATE HIGHWAY ADMINISTRATION TO HOST AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT (ADA) PUBLIC INVOLVEMENT MEETING IN HOWARD COUNTY          
          
WHO:          
State Highway Administration (SHA) representatives           
Howard County Commission on Disability Issues           
Community organizations, business and residents          
          
WHAT:           
This is one of several public meetings SHA is holding throughout the State to enhance mobility and gather input on challenges to accessibility. The meeting will provide an opportunity to share comments and help prioritize future Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) projects. A brief overview will be given and displays explaining individual ADA element compliance on sidewalks along State roadways in Howard County will be available for viewing. Representatives from SHA will be available to discuss ADA compliance issues and answer questions.

WHY:           
SHA is conducting a self-evaluation to identify features in the State’s public right of way, such as sidewalks, that do not meet ADA’s current guidelines.
