STATE HIGHWAY ADMINISTRATION TO HOST OPEN HOUSE FOR MD 180/MD 351 PROJECT PLANNING STUDY IN FREDERICK COUNTY

WHAT:
An Informational Workshop to familiarize and update attendees on the MD 180 (Jefferson Pike) /MD 351 (Ballenger Creek Pike) Planning Study. The workshop is being conducted in an interactive open house format; each attendee can conduct a self-paced review of important project information. Maps and other exhibits depicting preliminary alternatives under consideration, traffic data, and environmental impacts will be on display for public viewing. Project team members will be available to answer questions related to this project and receive input.

WHY:
The purpose of this project is to improve capacity and traffic
operations along MD 180 and MD 351 from Greenfield Drive to Corporate Drive, while supporting existing and planned development. This is an area that is experiencing rapid growth. Commercial and residential developments in the study area have contributed to heavily congested roads and high traffic volumes, especially during peak periods.
