STATE HIGHWAY ADMINISTRATION TO RESURFACE INNER AND OUTER LOOPS OF I-695 (BALTIMORE BELTWAY) BETWEEN PROVIDENCE ROAD (EXIT 28) AND PERRING PARKWAY (EXIT 30)
Motorists Advised to Plan Ahead for Extra Travel Time, Temporary Lane and Interchange Ramp Closures in Loch Raven and Parkville Areas
(September 11, 2007) – The Maryland Department of Transportation’s State Highway Administration (SHA) is beginning a $4 million project to resurface the Inner Loop and Outer Loop of I-695 (Baltimore Beltway) between Providence Road and MD 41 (Perring Parkway) in the Loch Raven and Parkville areas of Baltimore County. Weather permitting, the resurfacing project will be complete late fall 2007.
The highway safety and resurfacing project includes: grinding, repairing and resurfacing all lanes of the Beltway and adjacent interchange ramps within the two-mile project limit; curb gutter, and drainage system work; concrete barrier repairs; removal and replacement of metal traffic barrier (guardrails); removal and replacement of Beltway traffic signs; and installation of new pavement markings.
During highway work, I-695 lane closures may occur at any time between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m., Sunday – Thursday. Single lane closures will begin at 9 p.m. and double lane closures at 10 p.m. Interchange ramps may be closed and detoured between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. Sunday – Thursday. Single lane closures may also occur on Cromwell Bridge Road and Providence Road at any time between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday – Friday and between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. Sunday – Thursday.
SHA and its contractor, American Infrastructure of Fallston, ask motorists to plan ahead for extra travel time on the northeast section of the Beltway and drive with caution through the work zone and ramp detour routes.
