The Thomas Johnson Memorial Bridge on Maryland Route 4 over the Patuxent River in Calvert County, Maryland received two awards in 1978, an award of appreciation from the American Consulting Engineers Council, and an Innovative Excellence in Engineering Design award from Consulting Engineers Council of Maryland.
The Woodrow Wilson Memorial Bridge on Interstate 95 over the Potomac River on the Maryland, Washington DC and Virginia borders was presented with two awards from the Consulting Engineers Council, one for Engineering Excellence and the other for Innovative Engineering Excellence in 1984.
