Mission : The mission of the Office of Materials and Technology is to provide materials related services to the planning, design, construction, and maintenance offices of the State Highway Administration. These services are also rendered to other transportation modal administrations, counties, and other state agencies and municipalities. The Office of Materials and Technology is structured as follows:
Four Regional Laboratories The four regional laboratories are responsible for Quality Assurance/Quality Control and the Clearance and Acceptance of Materials used in transportation facility construction. They are the Central Northern Regional Lab in Brooklandville, Southern Eastern Regional Labs in Greenbelt and Easton, and the Western Regional Lab in Hancock.
