Project Sponsor Responsibilities

Project Sponsor

Project sponsors are responsible for all phases of the project. Some of the responsibilities include:

  • Project proposal preparation
  • Complete project proposal submitted by the deadline
  • Right-of-way purchases
  • Design
  • Surveys
  • Correspondence for environmental documentation
  • Wetlands delineation
  • Environmental Assessment Form
  • Assessment of Potential for Archeology
  • Archaeological surveys
  • Effect determination letter
  • Advisory Council letter
  • Categorical Exclusion letter
  • Hazardous materials identification
  • All necessary permits (state and local)
  • Advertising
  • Award contract
  • Construction
  • Construction management
  • Construction inspection
  • Project maintenance after construction is complete
